Cultural Warrior
Jaidyn and the King of the Brooklyn Carnival is a historical story that captures Carlos Lezama's journey from a child's perspective. The featured illustrations by renowned artist David Moore displays the cultural influences that inspired him in becoming the 'King of the Brooklyn Carnival.' Carlos fought for what he believed in hence the name 'Cultural Warrior'. It tells the story of how one man, new to a culture, valiantly fought for what matters most..and here we are today in 2019 still celebrating the bravado of carnival and family. His dedication to his culture greatly impacted the Caribbean American community.
