Cultural Warrior, Jaidyn and the King of the Brooklyn Carnival tells the tale of eight year old Jaidyn whose grandmother describes the history of Carnival in Brooklyn. A long time neighbor of the Lezama family, Jaidyn’s grandmother weaves a tapestry of rich history ranging from the origins of Carnival in Trinidad, NY’s Harlem beginnings, to the Crown Heights riots and restorative conversations between Lezama and the leaders of Crown Heights’ Jewish community.
